Help for Joplin

Willard Parents / Students, Our thoughts and prayers are going out to Joplin residents due to the devastation of the tornado on Sunday. I have received word from the Joplin district that several school buildings have been severely impacted from the storm. Some will most likely be a total loss. A plea for assistance and supplies has went out from the Joplin community and the Willard Chamber of Commerce is organizing a very quick response drive for donations. I spoke to the Chamber President and shared that I believe with the help of 4200 kids and parents we could fill a truck with donations. The items that are most needed at this time are as follows below. I would encourage only new items be donated. I have contacted each building principal and will depend upon them to organize the efforts of each building. The Chamber of Commerce will pick up all donated items on Thursday morning. I know this is only 1 day notice however the need for the supplies is immediate. This is one small way that we can help this effort. Study Island

At the beginning of the year information came home about Study Island.  (studyisland.com)  This is a great website that should be utilized throughout the summer!  We have started some review in Math and some of the kids said they don’t remember how to log in.
Log-in:  first three letters of your first name, first three letters of your last name, birth date, a period, then 21.
Mine for example: marmck16.21
Password for everyone is tigers.
Please let me know if you have problems logging on.

We will be doing some of our reading time outside in our courtyard.  I have asked the kids to bring in a beach towel if they have one.  They may leave them in their cubby for the rest of the year.

We have a great last few weeks planned at school!  Thanks for all you have done this year!
